Heading back to Fiji after 6 weeks in Canada

finally finished my Prairie Star quilt top

Well here I am on my way back to Fiji today and am currently sitting in the departure lounge in the Vancouver airport. I had planned to continue blogging during my visit to Canada but life got busy and I just didn’t get to it. Several of my friends have asked me if I’m going to continue with my blog. Absolutely! I’ve really enjoyed sharing my adventure so far.

My whirlwind trip to Canada included 2 weeks in Toronto, 4 weeks in Whitehorse, and 3 days in Vancouver. Highlights of my trip include attending Emily and Brandon’s wedding, visiting with lots of family both in Toronto and Whitehorse, attending the birth of my new great niece Emily Suzanne, completing several quilts, working at Bear’s Paw Quilts, and seeing some of my Whitehorse friends. I thought 6 weeks would be plenty of time to fit everything in but I really felt like I was running out of time towards the end of my trip. My apologies to those of you that I wasn’t able to visit, maybe on my next trip. Many thanks to Karen and Jim for letting me house sit while they were away.

I’m looking forward to getting back home to Fiji and seeing how things have gone since I left. I know that Arthur has continued to plant more Taro and we now have 3300 Taros planted. I don’t think any progress has been made on the Kitchen but he has contracted someone to put in the road. Arthur tells me the weather is getting hotter. I’m expecting 25 to 30 degree weather, quite a change from the minus 10 to plus 5 degree weather that we were having in Whitehorse.

It was sure nice to run into you at the Craft Fair in the Kwanlin Dun Convention Centre. What a pleasant surprise.
I presume everything went well with the wedding and baby birth.

It was so great to see you in Toronto, share a few glasses of wine together and see all of your photos! Thank you for coming to Emily’s wedding.
Good luck in the next phases of your building. You and Arthur have done so much already, but I am sure it sometimes feels a bit slow. I can’t wait to see your house go up:)
