Siana and Marc’s winter escape

The Yukon has had a pretty cold winter this year with minus 30 to 40 degrees Celsius for much of January and February. I can’t say that I miss the winter. My daughter Siana and her husband Marc have escaped the end of winter and are now sweltering in plus 30 degree weather. We are lucky to have them here on the farm for almost 4 weeks. The first week has already sped past. Before you know it will be time for them to head back to Canada.

Siana and Marc love to camp in the Yukon and decided that they would like to experience camping in Fiji so they brought along a wall tent. They used bamboo for the frame and the tent went up very quickly with all hands helping. The best part of bringing the tent is that it will be here for their next trip.

Marc is hoping to get in lots of fishing while he’s here. He’s already been out in the kayak and landed a tivoli. Filleted and grilled, it was an amazing dinner.
