I’d like to introduce our newest addition to our family, Bruno. I’m not sure how old Bruno is but he’s probably about 2 months old. We were visiting Arthur’s brother John this week and I just fell in love with this little bag of bones with big eyes. We’ve had him now for about 5 days and he has become my little shadow. He’s already putting on some weight and looking healthier.
This week we’ve been busy working on our top priorities. We’ve felled all the trees around our site that could pose a danger if another cyclone were to hit and we’ve started to improve our kitchen shelter. Arthur took a quick trip to Labasa for more building materials so now we have enough roofing tin and lumber to extend the kitchen so that we’ll have a living/sleeping room to replace our tent.
We’ve also taken a look at our crops and Yasi. Happy to say our Taro was not damaged by the storm. We lost some of the Yasi but not many. We’ve been lucky again. Others in our area lost a lot of their crops and will have to rely on government relief rations in the coming months.

Those ears! Such a cute pup! Lots of work ahead for you – not An easy task cleaning up after the storm! It was great to hear from you after the storm as we were all thinking about you here in the Yukon.

Love your little bag of bones Karen & nice to see “the Bench” survived.
Great to see production too and things coming back together. What a tribulation eh?
Too bad about losing the trees. On the hot days, I think that’d be a killer.
In other notes,
Tell Arthur: “What do a woman and a cyclone have in common?”
They both moan when they’re coming and take half the house when they leave.
😁
