Our visit to Kelowna with my brother Gordon and his family just flew by. We only stayed for the weekend but we had a great time filled with helping feed the chickens, building fences, playing with Maddie, a visit to Summerhill winery, a fantastic Mongolian hotpot meal, and great conversations about plans for Gord and Cheryl’s farm. I’m looking forward to coming back in a year or two to see how everything is coming along.
We also took the time to visit my Uncle Harold and Aunt Doreen in Vernon who I haven’t seen since I was about 18 and Arthur had never met. We enjoyed a lovely visit and especially enjoyed seeing all their pictures of family and hearing Uncle Harold stories of the war and of his early years. Thank you Aunt Doreen for treating us to lunch.
Since being in Vancouver my sister Ellen, my Mom, Ellen’s sister-in law Joanne, and I have visited every quilt store from Chilliwack to Whiterock. We’ve caught the Row by Row bug and have collected 10 patterns and kits. Ellen has promised us that she’ll search out a few more in Toronto.
