The moment finally came yesterday for Arthur and I to say our goodbyes to the Yukon. Our sea can is full to brimming and finally sealed. All our errands are done and final goodbyes made to friends and family. A glass of champagne all around to celebrate the day and we’re on our way to Kelowna to visit my brother Gordon, his wife Cheryl, and daughter Maddie.
The flight was quick and before we new it we were exiting the airport in our rental car. That’s when the fun began. We made a wrong turn and headed north instead of south. When we noticed a mile post sign indicating how many km to Vernon, we turned ourselves around. Heading south on 97 we missed our turnoff and found ourselves heading over the bridge to West Kelowna. After another turn around and a stop at a gas station for directions we finally found our way to Gord and Cheryl’s. The 30 minute drive had become over an hour’s drive!
