The hardest thing to stop doing

I’m half the way through my first week of retirement – hurray!  I’ve been sticking to my goals with starting each day with a walk.  The skies have been clear and its been crisp.  I love the trails and our little dog Maggie is enjoying the extra exercise.  Today I’m walking a trail that encircles our neighbourhood.  I’m enjoying it except its so hard to turn off the “work” that’s stll going through my head.  I’m still thinking about that capital project, what’s the next step, who needs to be involved, how is the next communication going to go – enough already. I’m retired. Someone else will take care of it. I stop at a little bench looking out over the mountains, take some deep cleansing breaths, take in the amazing Yukon fresh air, and let work go just a little bit more.
