What I like about teaching quilting classes

I’ve had a very busy teaching month in October with 3 different classes.  I’ve been asked how I fit it in with working full time at my ‘real’ job. The answer is simple –  I make doing the things I enjoy a priority in my life.  I enjoy interacting with quilters who are excited about learning new techniques. It great to see different colour and fabric selections than the ones I choose.  Its like getting to make 6 to 8 different quilts without having to actually do the piecing myself. So what am I not doing while I’m making my teaching samples, preparing lessons and actually teaching?  Well I don’t watch much TV (maybe an hour a week).  I don’t do much housework (again maybe an hour a week). My husband does most of the cooking and thankfully I’m past driving the kids to all their activities.  I should be exercising more and one day I will achieve that balance but for now I choose  to spend my time quilting and teaching.
