Today I learned about newsfeeds. I’ve always been a bit nervous about signing up for newsletters by email. I hate having my inbox flooded with emails I don’t have time to read – they just get sent to the junk mail. I have a few of my favourite sites bookmarked so that I can visit them often and check out what’s new when and if I want to, which up until now has worked fine for me. But today as part of my ed2go course on building WordPress blogs and websites the concept of RSS newsfeeds was introduced to me. Newsfeeds are headlines of interesting happenings on other websites or blogs. I’ve selected 3 of my favourite websites and added their newsfeeds to my blog site. I’ve limited each newsfeed to only 3 headlines so that I’m not overwhelmed. This way not only am I able to follow current happenings on my favourite websites, I’m able to share these with friends, family and quilters without flooding their mailboxes too.
